Diana L. Lambson

Diana Lynn (Martin) Lambson, 68, of Stamford, NE died March 26, 2016 at 6:05 pm surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by husband Ivan Lee Lambson of Stamford, NE, daughter Marlis Lynn Lambson of Rio, WI, son Trevor Lee Lambson of Alma, NE and brother Larry Lee Martin and wife Lynn of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, as well as her "fur-kids" Annie the Cocker Spaniel, Chica the Chijuajua and Max the Tabbycat. Diana's wishes were for a Celebration of Life during the Summer rather than a funeral. The Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Stamford Community Hall, at a time to be determined later, where everyone in attendance can share stories about Diana to enjoy how she was such a wonderful part of all of our lives. Diana was born on June 13, 1947 in Santa Monica, CA to Mary Irene (Poppert) Martin. She grew up in Chico, CA and subsequently graduated from Chico High School in 1965. She joined the United States Navy shortly thereafter as a Dental Assistant and was honorably discharged. Diana was an extraordinary published poet as well as a newspaper reporter with many of her stories crossing the AP/UP news lines. She was an ongoing volunteer with the Alma Caring Cupboard. She always went out of her way to make sure people were happy, healthy and safe. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church (ELCA) of Stamford as well as a Lay Pastor for the ELCA in many cities in Nebraska and Kansas. She was honored for her service to her Country while at St. John's Good Samaritan Society in Kearney, NE. She was a member of the Order of the Rose of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She conducted many writer's workshops over the years and was a Girl Scout Troop Leader. Diana was an inspiration to many, had a few close friends but was friends with everyone she met; no one was a stranger. Diana loved Nature and was always striving to keep Nature clean and safe for future generations. Diana is preceded in death by her Mother Mary Irene (Poppert) (Martin) Connor, Step-Father Raymond George Connor, brother Vaughn Martin, brother Jerry Martin and sister Darlene (Martin) Seibold.
