Barbara A. Wick, 78 Elm Creek resident Barbara A. Wick, 78, of Elm Creek, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elm Creek with Father Neal P. Nollette officiating . Interment will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Elm Creek. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12th at the O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Chapel in Elm Creek. Arrangements entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home of Elm Creek. Barbara Ann Wick was born February 2, 1936 in Grand Island, Nebraska to James A. and Julia E. (Dow) Brown. She received her education from Grand Island High School, graduating in 1953. Barbara moved to California and Colorado before moving to Elm Creek in 1976. On December 28, 1981, she was united in marriage to Roy Wick. Most recently, she had been working as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Kearney. She enjoyed crafts and raising dogs. Survivors include her daughters, Helen Kennedy of Kearney, Kathryn Falkinburg and husband, Scott of Pratt, KS, Julie Nickel and Fiancé', Martin Kelley of Elm Creek; son, Steven Kennedy of Kimball; 38 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; step-daughters, Arlene and Charles Clark of Brady, Mary Gray of Phoenix, AZ, Lois Smith of Kearney, JoAnn Rouse of Gibbon, and Christine Shahan and Kent Mays of Kearney; step-sons, Larry and Gloria Wick of Omaha, Don and Gayleen Wick of Fleming Island, FL, Don and Denise Wick of Elm Creek, Ron Wick and Virginia Evans of Riverdale, Tom and Barb Wick of Holdrege, and Ed and Paula Wick of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Marie Bernstracca of Grand Island, Mary Bee of Wickenburg, AZ, Toma Heath of Wickenburg, AZ, Betty Green of Grand Island, Metta Smith of Portland, OR, Susie Perkins and husband, Kenney of Grand Island, Anetta Montgomery of Portland, OR and Sandra Wolfe and husband, Don of Overton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, George Kennedy and Roy Wick; son, Keith Kennedy and 2 step-daughters, Darlene Wick and Patricia Greuter.
