Donna M. Osborn

Donna Mae (McGinnis, Keller) Osborn, 82, of Kearney, died Monday September 26, 2016 at Good Samaritan Society St. John’s in Kearney, Nebraska. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Friday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home. Pastor Greg Clark will officiate. Burial will be in the Kearney Cemetery. There will be no visitation. There will be a lunch and time of fellowship at the funeral home following committal services. Memorials are planned to The Alexander Edwards Foundation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Donna was born May 8, 1934 in Miller, NE, the youngest child of six to George Wesley McGinnis and Jennie Rachel Daugherty. Donna was raised by her aunt, Sarah Millhouse and attended school in Elm Creek, NE. She has many memories of the telephone switchboard her Aunt Sarah operated in their home as she was growing up. Donna married Neil Allen Keller on November 18, 1949 in Kearney and had two children. They were married for 52 years. Neil and Donna moved around with his work which included Cozad, McCook, Albion and Grant Nebraska, Las Vegas Nevada, Burlington, IA, Custer, South Dakota, Deer Lodge Montana and Phoenix Arizona. From 1976 to 1986 they owned Valley Siding and Insulation. Her work history included Unimart, Rite Style Optical and Follett Bookstore all in Kearney. They moved to Phoenix for her to open a Follett Hallmark Store on the ASU campus. Upon retiring around 1994 they returned to Nebraska and bought a house in Minden, NE. After Neil passed away in 2001, she moved to Kearney in 2002 and where she met Scotty Osborn in 2004. Donna married Merlin (Scotty) Osborn on July 22, 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. They lived in Kearney and were married for ten years. Scotty preceded her in death on December 14, 2015. She moved to Prairie View Gardens in December 2015 and to St. John's in February, where she passed away. While in Minden, Neil and Donna attended Minden Evangelical Free Church. Scotty and Donna attended The Kearney Church of Christ. Some of her favorite activities included card games, crocheting, and sewing. Donna is survived by two daughters and son in laws; Sandra and Michael Peterson of Riverdale, and Brenda and Mark Macdonald of Phoenix; her late husband Scotty’s children and spouses, Karen and Robert Finkenbiner of Omaha, Brenda and Larry Knoll of Leadville, CO and Timothy and Kim Osborn of Leadville, CO; her grandchildren, Kamala Millspaugh, Scott Macdonald, Loralee Macdonald, Nichole Rezac, Christopher (Jill) Peterson and Rochelle (Clayton) Edwards; her late husband’s grandchildren, Michael Finkenbiner, Rachel Finkenbiner, Nicholas (Katy) Bond, Westley (Danielle) Bond, Kelsey (Andrew) Tull , Chelsea Knoll, Alex Knoll, Logan Osborn, Jonah Osborn, Caleb Osborn, Kaden Osborn; her great grandchildren, Maranda Millspaugh, Brandon Millspaugh, Matthew Millspaugh, Chloe Macdonald, Makala Keaschall, Morgan Rezac, Christian Rezac, Sydney Peterson, Addison Peterson, Samantha Edwards, Gabriel Edwards, Michael Edwards; her late husbands great grand children, Easton Bond, Layton Bond, Alyssa Bond and Haley Bond; her two great great grandchildren due in October and February; a sister in law, Carrie McGinnis of Minden, NE. Donna held Leland and Carrie very close in her heart and was devastated when her brother/best friend passed away in 2015. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her first husband, Neil Keller, her second husband Merlin (Scotty) Osborn, her great grandson Alexander Edwards who died July 16, 2009, her sister, Iola Kirsting, and four brothers, Merlin, George Jr., Leonard, and Leland McGinnis.
