Geraldine “Gerry” Jurgens, 73 Kenesaw resident Geraldine “Gerry” Jurgens, 73, of Kenesaw died Friday, April 15, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Faith United Church in Gibbon. The Rev. Mike Evans will officiate. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service all at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church or to the family for future designation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Gerry was born September 17, 1942 in Spencer, Iowa to Robert and Hariett (Nissen) Eliasson. The first born of 5 children, she attended Excelsor School kindergarten through the 11th grade. Her final year of high school was at Lake Park High School where she graduated from in 1960. She later attended two years of secretary school in Omaha, NE. It was there where she met the love of her life. Gerry was united in marriage to Henry Jurgens on May 12, 1963 in Dickinson County, Iowa at the Excelsor Methodist Church. To this union two children were blessed. Wendy in 1965 and Keith in 1967. Gerry was the most loving stay at home mom anyone could imagine. She loved to cook, sew, paint and garden. One of her most enjoyable times was being able to make a handmade wedding gown for Wendy for her wedding. She always looked forward to the UMW monthly meetings and the companionship of her fellow Hope Rachel Circle members. She was loved by everyone she came in contact with. She was an avid long-distance touring motorcyclist. Her pride and joy was her 1965 R-60 BMW. But the things she cherished most were her conversations with her two granddaughters. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Henry Jurgens of Gibbon; son Keith Jurgens and wife Julie; granddaughters, Thalia and Calista Jurgens; sister Roberta Schuring, Loretta Joyce and husband Ed, and Jeanette Gehret; sister-in-law Mary Eliasson; brothers-in-law Leslie Jurgens and wife Jenny, and Steve Jurgens and wife Jan; 1 aunt and 1 uncle and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Wendy; brother Douglas Eliasson; her Father-in-law and mother-in-law Henry G. and Hazel Jurgens and a granddaughter born at rest, Anacka Jurgens.
