Janice Trimble Kearney resident, formerly of Elm Creek Janice A. Trimble, 75, of Kearney, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at O'Brien - Straatmann Funeral Home in Kearney with the Rev. Dean Pofahl officiating. Interment will follow at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, and one hour prior to the service, all at O'Brien - Straatmann Funeral Home in Kearney. Memorials are suggested to Mother Hull Home or to the family for future designation. Janice Ann Trimble was born March 1, 1936 in Elm Creek, Nebraska to Curtis and Della Mae (Monk) Henderson. She grew up in Elm Creek graduating from Elm Creek High School in 1955. Janice was united in marriage to Jerry E. Trimble on October 1, 1955 in Elm Creek, NE. After which the couple moved numerous times including being stationed over-seas while Jerry was in the Navy and Air Force. They moved to Kearney in June of 1981 following Jerry's retirement from the Air Force. Janice would later move to Elm Creek in 1995. She had been a resident of Mother Hull Home since 2007. Janice was a member of the First Christian Church in Elm Creek, Military Officer's Wives Club where she served as secretary for 3 years. She served as a Girl Scout leader for 15 years and a Cub Scout leader for 3 years and a past president of the Elm Creek American Legion Auxiliary. Janice enjoyed reading, cooking, playing cards, watching Husker football games, and attending her grandchildren's numerous activities. Survivors include her daughters, Jackie Benson and her husband, Herman of Overton and Julie Meier and her husband, Marty of Overton; son, Forrest Trimble of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Rachel, Rita and Eva Benson, Grant, Katie and Nathan Meier, Aaron Meier and his wife, Gina and their son, Peyton Meier; sister, Sharon Carter and her husband, Walter of Hutchinson, KS, Annette Bemiss of Elm Creek, and Judy Stubbs and her husband, David of Wilber, NE as well as, many nieces and nephews.
