John Mueller, 51, of Kearney died Monday, March 14, 2016 in Kearney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with the Father Paul Colling and Father Joseph Hannappel celebrating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the church with a vigil / prayers service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. John Carl Mueller was born November 19, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan to Carl and Diane (Arbanas) Mueller. He grew up in Brighton, Michigan and was a 1982 graduate of Brighton High School. While in High School, John was a stand-out athlete. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, MI. It was there where he met the love of his life. On November 28, 1987, John was united in marriage to Joanne Minogue in Nashville, TN. John had a passion for coaching youth sports, spending the past 18 years positively impacting many young athletes. Most recently, he was the head coach of the Kearney Catholic Boys Soccer team and also previously helped with the Tri-City Jr. Storm hockey club. John was an avid Denver Broncos and Detroit Red Wings fan. John was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He was a man of strong faith. John was never far from Joanne’s side and his family meant the world to him. Nationwide, there is evidence of John's beautiful craftsmanship. John refurbished distressed wood and had a mission to increase awareness of how things or people, that may appear to have no purpose, can be transformed into works of beauty. His most recently completed project was in January and is proudly displayed at BarVino in Lincoln, NE. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joanne Mueller of Kearney; sons Michael Mueller of Toledo, OH, Jack Mueller of Kearney; daughters, Gina Mueller of Texas, Megan Mueller of Kearney and Heather Shepard of California; parents Carl and Diane Mueller of Brighton, MI; brother Francis (Ashley) Mueller of Macomb, MI; sister Marjorie Mueller-Harwood of Brighton, MI; mother-in-law, Josephine Minogue of Toledo, OH; sister-in-law Donna (Kenny) Gaughan of Bartlett, IL; brother-in-law George (Mary Jane) Minogue of Lake In the Hills, IL, as well as, many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John Minogue.
