Joyce Bruner, 77 Minden resident Joyce J. Bruner, 77 of Minden, died Monday, April 8, 2019 at her home. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Shelton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carla Gunn officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Shelton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the National Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Joyce was born January 31, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK to Melvin and Wanda (O’Neal) Mabray. She was raised in and attended school in Oklahoma City, OK. On October 7, 1958, Joyce was united in marriage to Ronald Forst in Oklahoma City, OK. To this union three daughters were blessed; Chris, Sheri and Jodie. The couple moved to Shelton, NE in 1960. Joyce worked at the Ordinance Plant in Alda, the Turkey Plant Gibbon and later for Shelton Public Schools as a bus driver and custodian. Ronald passed away in 1972. On October 26, 1973, Joyce married William Bruner at the Shelton United Methodist Church. The marriage added two sons; Karl and Mark to their family. William passed away in 2002. Joyce was a longtime member of the Shelton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed painting, woodworking, quilting and crocheting. Joyce also loved cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with her family. Joyce was very handy when it came to fixing things around the house or on vehicles. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Chris (Mark) Miller of Kingsley, MI, Sheri (Henry) Brandt of Shelton, Jodie Harper of Minden, Karl (Donna) Bruner of Grand Island and Mark (Erica) Bruner of Blair; grandchildren, Samantha, Casey, Jessica, Heather, John, Lynn, Tabetha, Trishia, Cheznie, Nichole, Kirsten, Logan, Britney, Blake and Levi; 20 great grandchildren; brother, Aaron Mabray of Shawnee, OK; sisters-in-law, Marlene Mead of Gibbon and Sandy Linten of Texas; brother-in-law, Derl Williams of Oklahoma; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; two sisters and two brothers.
