Kathleen A. Raasch

Kathleen A. Raasch, 82 of Kearney, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. A rosary will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Butte, NE. A Funeral Mass will follow the Rosary. Inurnment will be at the Butte Cemetery. Kathleen A. Raasch was born July 14, 1944 in Spencer, NE to Leo Reiser and Agnes (Liewer) Reiser. She received her education from Butte High School, graduating in 1962. She then went to Norfolk Beauty School and became a licensed Cosmetologist. Kathleen was united in marriage to Clifford Raasch February 4, 1967 in Butte, NE at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Kathleen was a business owner in the Butte community and proudly served the public in the bar and restaurant business and in her beauty shop. Everyone that walked through the door was welcomed with respect. Many people were lifetime customers, spending time in her chair for haircuts and colors. Kathleen had a strong business mind and helped pioneer women owned businesses in the area at that time. Kathleen’s house was an open door for all of her family and friends, she never knew a stranger and was always easy to visit with and find a connection. Her nieces, nephews, and friends all knew her house was a safe space to rest, visit, and eat. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and cherished the time she spent with family and friends. She especially loved spending time at the lake, camping, and watching her grandchildren. She had a green thumb and took great pride in her gardening and beautiful flowers. Her flower gardens were always gorgeous and full of color. She also enjoyed watching football and cheering on her favorite team (The Patriots and Tom Brady). As her health challenges caused her to stay at home, she kept in touch with her grandchildren’s games through Game Changer and always knew how their weekends had gone, win or lose. Her faith was an important part of her life. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women, and she was also a member of St. James Catholic Church. She enjoyed being involved in her church and appreciated the friendships, fellowship, and sense of community that came with being a part of these groups. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Karri (Scott) Damratowski; daughter-in-law, Corina Raasch; sisters, Delores Johnson and Leola (Merle) Riesselman; sister-in-law Sharon Reiser, brother-in-law Terry (Cindy) Raasch, Sister-in-law Elgene Brown, sister-in-law Rosemary Raasch; grandchildren, Claire Damratowski, Quinn Damratowski, Jack Damratowski, Ily Damratowski, Kyle (Megan) Raasch, Mitch Raasch. As well as her faithful dog, Murphy, many nieces, nephews and friends. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Raasch; son, Daniel Raasch; her parents Leo and Agnes Reiser, and her five brothers, Robert (Nina), Don (Helen), Harold, Duane (Mary) and Kenneth and brother-in-law Ray Johnson; as well as several of Cliff's brothers and sisters.
