Lynne L. Brandt

Lynne Louise Brandt, 65, of Kearney, NE, was born January 23, 1952 to Meril Dean and Harriet Jean (Landis) Brandt, in Kearney, NE and entered her heavenly home on SaturdayJune 24, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services will be Tuesday, June 27th, at 10:30 am, at Gibbon Baptist Church, with Pastor Dean Pofahl officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to AseraCare Hospice, or Kearney Area Animal Shelter. Lynne grew up on the family farm northeast of Gibbon, NE, attending country school, and graduating from Gibbon High School in 1970. She attended Art School in Omaha, and the Police Academy. Lynne was the Art Director at NTV in the early 1970’s. She worked as a security guard at Kearney State College, and also at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. She retired from Good Sam in 2013 after 23 years. Lynne loved her Lord Jesus & knew she was going to Heaven. She told her family in recent months that when God spoke to her, He called her “my child”. Lynne loved cats, and treasured many throughout her lifetime! She had a tender heart when it came to animals. Lynne loved watching football, including the Huskers. She was on a bowling league for 25 years. She also loved to cook and was always ready to offer advice on how to prepare a certain dish. Lynne loved travelling and would often talk about the places she had visited and all she had seen and experienced. Lynne is survived by her dearest friend, Kathy, whom she thought of as her sister, her beloved cats, Pickles and Spencer, sisters in law Marilyn Brandt of Urbandale, IA and Lois Ann Brandt of Gibbon, NE, niece Bobbi (Mike) Gangwish of Gibbon, nephews Brad (Cindy) Brandt of Axtell, NE, Jeff (Gina) Brandt of Branson, MO, Greg (Heather) Brandt of Spokane, WA, Kevin (Amanda) Brandt of Tolleson, AZ, Steve (Joni) Brandt of Minden, NE, and Eric Brandt of Winterset, IA, along with many cousins, aunts, and great nieces and nephews, including a new great niece born to Kevin & Amanda on May 27, 2017, named Peyton Lynne in her honor! Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jim Brandt in 1995, her sister in law, Ellen Jean Brandt, in 1997, her brother Gary Brandt in 2015, and two great nieces, Hilliary Ann Brandt in 1998, and Astri Celia Brandt, in 2004
