Marilyn K. Williams, 68, of Kearney died Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 PM, Thursday, April 8 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Kearney with Bishop Craig Brown officiating. There will be no visitation. O'Brien - Straatmann Funeral Home of Kearney is in charge of arrangements. She was born March 11, 1942 in Las Animas, CO to Homer and Evelyn (Richeson) Rogers. She grew up in Denver and attended Denver Public Schools. In 1960 she married Wayne Olson in Denver, they soon after moved to Kearney. In 1977 she was married to Dalvin Williams. She worked as a secretary for Boulder County Schools while living back in her home State of Colorado. She always enjoyed the interaction with kids and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. Marilyn was a woman of many roles, she was a very huge advocate for the handicapped and was State Chairwoman for the Nevada Special Olympics during the 1980’s. She had the opportunity to live many places in her life and had an addictive personality and made many loyal friends over the years of her life. She had MS, but never once let that stop her for fighting for the rights of and giving to those with special needs. She loved to travel, and crochet dolls. Her true love of hobbies was video games. She was passionate about the Denver Broncos because of her father and has passed that to her children and grandchildren. Thru many struggles Marilyn never gave up. Her attitude was always positive and supportive even in the worst of circumstances and challenges. She was admired for never giving up and will be missed by so many. She always had an open door of support no matter who may be in need regardless of her own circumstance. We will miss you Mother. Survivors include her daughter Christine Ius and her husband Don of Las Vegas; son Gregory Olson and his wife Shannon of Ragan, NE, son Troy Olson of Kearney, daughter Tiffani Olson of Kearney, and son Darren J Williams of Provo, UT; sisters Donna Berberat and her husband Charlie of Lakeland, FL and Patricia Doud of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Jarod Alex of Kearney, Bridger Abeta and Chamonix Young of Kearney, Ethan Olson of Kearney, JJ Shambach of Las Vegas, Sarah Olson, Hope Goodwin and Grace Goodwin all of Kearney; great grandchildren Jarod and Arienna Alex; and partner Scott Meyers. She was preceded in death by her parents.
