Nancy J. Chamberlin

Nancy Jane Allen Chamberlin, 82, a resident of Christian Homes in Holdrege and formerly of Kearney, died November 27, 2016 at the home. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 5-7 at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Kearney Cemetery. Nancy was born December 11, 1933, in Berwyn, NE to Richard and Myrtle (Evans) Allen. She graduated from Ansley High School in 1951. On May 25, 1952, she was united in marriage to Martin Porter Chamberlin in Ansley, NE. They celebrated their 61st anniversary in 2013. They made their first home on the farm near Mason City, NE. They left the farm in 1960 and lived in several different towns finally settling in Kearney in 1963. She was a member of the First Church of God for over 40 years. She knew that her acceptance of Jesus Christ as her personal Savior as a youth assured her a home in heaven today and for eternity. Nancy’s life revolved around her family and her church. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her talents with friends and family. Her home was always open to college groups travelling through with the church, people who had family in the hospital or extended family members coming through on vacation. Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Bartels and husband Merlyn of Upland, Naomi Saathoff and husband James of Naponee, Rachel Seibert and husband Ralph of Axtell, Arla Houck and husband Harley of Kearney. Grandchildren Amanda Ripley and husband Andy of Lincoln, Danielle Crackel and husband Ben of Kearney, Kellyn Ellis and husband Jonathan of Red Cloud, April Seibert of Tulsa OK, James Seibert and wife Lacey of Grand Island, Ashley Jarmin and husband Christopher of Gibbon, Tara Lammers and husband Mason of Kearney. Great-grandchildren Brook Ripley, Evy and Justice Seibert, Kacie, Elias, Lilly and Deliah Jarmin, and Tripp and Cohen Lammers. Step grandchildren Chad Houck and his children Wyatt and Brody of Lansing, MI and Scott and Amy Houck and their children Chase, Shayli and Rheese of Omaha. She is also survived by two sisters, Bernice Loy of Wood River, NE and Jessie Ward and husband Glen of Alliance, NE and nieces and families. She was proceeded in death by her husband, sister Dorothy, brother Billie and brother-in-law Kenneth Loy and nephew Floyde Loy. Memorials are suggested to Wes Goddard a missionary with New Tribes Missions.
