Terry V. Hopkins

Terry V. Hopkins, 71 of Campbell, NE formerly of Shelton passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025 at his home in Campbell. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Shelton United Methodist Church with Pastor Michelle Byerly officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. Memorials are suggested to the Campbell Fire and Rescue Department. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Terry was born June 28, 1953 in Gothenburg, NE to John and LaVauna (Bice) Hopkins. He was raised in Kearney and attended Kearney High School. On June 30, 1972, Terry was united in marriage to Lewise Williams in Gibbon, NE. The couple made their home south of Shelton where they raised their three children. Terry worked at Gibbon Pack and later Chief Industries in Kearney for over 20 years, retiring in 2012. For the past 10 years, Terry and Lewise have lived in Campbell, NE. Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and trap shooting. He was active as a Boy Scout leader and involved in 4-H when his children were younger. Terry also enjoyed attending morning coffee group in Campbell. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Husker football. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lewise Hopkins of Campbell; children, Chris (Rhonda) Hopkins of Heartwell, Sherry (Lee) Reichstein of Heartwell and Melissa Wiehn of Shelton; grandchildren, Caleb (Larissa) Wiedeman of Shelton, Austin (Nicole) Olson of Kearney, Taylor Hopkins of Kearney, Bekah (Jeff) Eckhout of Pleasanton, Zachary Reichstein of Lincoln, Haley Reichstein and Ellie Reichstein both of Heartwell, Kyle Wiehn, Justin Wiehn and Emily Wiehn all of Shelton; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Jeff Hopkins of Cambridge and Shannon Hopkins of Holdrege; sisters-in-law, Pat Struss of Grand Island and Joy (Jack) Hughes of Sacramento, CA; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Ralph Struss and Neil Williams; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clinton and Arlene Williams.
