May 30, 1934 - May 1, 2022

Betty McMaster, 87 of Kearney passed away peacefully May 1, 2022, at St. Luke’s Good Samaritan Society. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney with Rev. Dr. Michelle Holley Carlson officiating. Interment will follow at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a charitable donation to be made in Betty’s memory at a later date. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Betty was born May 30, 1934, at Wisner, NE, to Henry and Anna (Kind) Luedtke, and adopted soon thereafter by her uncle and aunt Herman and Martha Luedtke. She attended Wisner Public Schools and graduated from Wisner High School. On August 10, 1952, she married Larry McMaster, and they were blessed with 3 children and 69 years of devoted married life together. Betty worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years. Betty was a member of First Lutheran Church, P.E.O. Chapter CB in Ravenna, and Eastern Star. While living in Wisner, she was the dedicated church organist at Christ Lutheran Church for nearly 25 years. She loved all of her collectibles and decorating for every holiday, spending hours outdoors enjoying her flower gardening, and exploring our great State on day trips with Larry. Betty was a friend to all with her welcoming smile, easy laughter, and genuine gift of conversation. She is survived by her husband Larry of Kearney; her children: Pam McMaster of Lincoln, Tim (Greta) McMaster of Lincoln, and Heidi (Mark) Standage of Ravenna; her grandchildren: Thane Dinsdale of Omaha, Rachel Dinsdale of Lincoln, Eric (Claire Erb) Dinsdale of Lincoln, Ryan (Tara) McMaster of Lincoln, Katrina (Cody) Oborny of Lincoln, Brady (Halleigh) Standage of Ravenna, Ethan Standage of Ravenna, Gavin Standage of Ravenna; and her great grandchildren: Masen Dinsdale and Jersey Oborny of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her brothers Darrell Luedtke and Johnnie Kay; sister Marcella Baldwin, and parents Henry and Anna (Kind) Luedtke, and Herman and Martha Luedtke.
