Gale W. Dady Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gale W. Dady, 91 of Kearney passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney with Pastor Jim Wilson officiating. Interment will be held at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home. Gale Weldon Dady was born May 31, 1930 in Buffalo County, Nebraska to Burt and Mabel (Bowker) Dady. He was raised in Kearney and attended Kearney High School, graduating with the class of 1948. Gale continued his education at Kearney State College where he earned his bachelor’s degree and later his Master’s degree. He taught school for 12 years in Riverdale, Woodlake, Kilgore, Sumner and served as Principal in Shelton. On March 10, 1949, Gale was united in marriage to Ollie Whitney in Holdrege, NE. Together the couple owned and operated Dad’s Tavern for 50 years. Gale enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Nebraska Bowlers Hall of Fame for his achievements. Gale held several leadership positions with the Nebraska Bowlers Association over the years. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ollie Dady of Kearney; children, Harmon (Judy) Dady of Lincoln, Dennis Dady and special friend, Dodie of Stevensville, MI and Robin (Albert) Rodriguez of Kearney; grandchildren, Jeff (Kelsey) Dady, Heidi (Brian) Crawford, Hailey Dady, Jason (Crystal) Dady, Jake (Shyler) Dady, Dominick Dady, Rebecca Dady, Daniel Rodriguez, Michaela Rodriguez, Dante Rodriguez, and Damon Rodriguez,; 12 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Gale was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rick Dady; granddaughter, Heather Dady; two brothers; and 4 sisters.
