Jack R. Murr, 83 of Gibbon passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Kearney Area Animal Shelter. Jackie Ray Murr was born March 29, 1938 in Sac County, Iowa to Charles and Jessie (Hunt) Murr. The family moved to Gibbon when Jack was two years old. He was raised in Gibbon and received his education from Gibbon High School. Following his graduation, Jack worked for a few farmers in the area. He later worked at Rockwell International and was a longtime employee at West Pharmaceuticals Co. Jack loved to tinker on anything with an engine, especially lawn mowers. Left to cherish his memory are two nephews; many great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a brother-in-law, Alan Dietz of Newark, NE. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joan Dietz; and brother, Jerry Murr.
