Joel Beavers, 55 Kearney resident Joel Beavers, 55 of Kearney passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 in Elm Creek. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Elm Creek. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Beavers was born October 9, 1965 in Kearney, Nebraska to Gary and Carol (Miller) Beavers. He was raised in Elm Creek and received his education from Elm Creek High School, graduating in 1983. Joel loved to spend time outdoor gardening and tending to his flowers. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Anne (Jim) Moats of Elm Creek and Amy (Jerry Meridith) Hernandez of Gothenburg, NE; special friend, Janet Kirsch of Kearney; step sisters, Kathie (Jay) Martindale of Brewster, NE and Sheila Dawn Miller of Golden, CO; as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Joel was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; stepmother, Lois Beavers; stepbrothers, Jamie Miller and Tom Miller.
