Robert "Bob" Madison Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert A. Madison, 65 of Kearney passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Prairie Center Cemetery at Haven Chapel. The family will greet friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or a gift of love can be made by donating blood, plasma, or platelets in Bob’s honor. Bob was born October 15, 1956 in Great Lake, IL to Ervin and Aleda Madison. The family moved to Kearney, NE where he earned his Eagle Scout status and attended Kearney High School. On March 12, 1983, he was united in marriage to Kimberly S. Rolofson. Bob worked at Ramada Inn as a cook and at Josten Wilbert Vaults for several years. Because of scouting, he developed a love for camping, fishing, and being outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and rebuilding muscle and antique cars. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kim Madison of Kearney; children, Chad Schneider of Minden, Jamie (Nathan) Wade of Brady and Jennifer (Jordan Herringer) Madison of Hastings; grandchildren, Leela Wilde, Lyda and Olivia Schneider, Chloie and Jacob Basenback, Alexander Wade and Oakley Herringer; mother, Aleda Madison; brothers, Gary (Lita) Madison of Beatrice, Jolynn (Bobby) Gillispie of Lincoln and Terry (Heather) Madison of Kearney; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his father; brother, James Madison; nephew, Cory Rolofson; brothers-in-law, Gary McNew and Gordon Rolofson; mother-in-law Marguerite Rolofson; father-in-law, Wayne Rolofson.
