Robert “Jim” Overholt, 75 of Kearney passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at his home. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Kearney Cemetery with Fr. Art Faesser celebrating. Memorials are suggested to AseraCare Hospice or St. Martha’s Catholic Church, 300 E Tallmadge Ave, Akron, OH 44310. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Jim was born March 29, 1947 in Lodi, Ohio to Robert and Mary (Mullett) Overholt. He grew up in Ashland, Ohio and graduated from Ashland High School. Jim was united in marriage to Slavica “Vicki” Borbash in Ohio. After high school he worked for a factory in Stow, Ohio. Later the couple moved to Kearney where he worked as a maintenance supervisor for Kearney Public Schools for 23 years. Jim and Vicki loved nature and would spend time together watching wild animals outside. Jim enjoyed yardwork and landscaping. He loved animals, especially their dog and bird. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vicki Overholt of Kearney; siblings, Larry (Barbara) Overholt of Ashland, OH, Sondra Garrison of Mansfield, OH, and Ronald Overholt of Ashland, OH; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
