Roger V. Cover Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Roger Vance Cover, 82 of Kearney passed away Friday, February 11, 2022 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege with Military Honors provided by the Holdrege American Legion in conjunction with the U.S. Navy Funeral Honors Team. Memorials are suggested to the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Roger Vance Cover was born October 11, 1939 in Atlanta, Nebraska to Don and Alma (Lavene) Cover. He received his education from Longfellow High School in Kearney, graduating with the class of 1957. In January of 1962, Roger enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served on a Destroyer as an electrician until his honorable discharge in April of 1966. He then worked as an electrician and as the supervisor of maintenance at Poudre School District in Fort Collins, CO for 23 years until his retirement in 1993. Roger will be remembered and always loved by his many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Brothers and there wives. Rex and Lori.
