Sheryl Hibbs Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sheryl Hibbs, 64 of Kearney passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney. Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, November 5, 2020 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home with Pastor Nate Krizek officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Sheryl was born November 29, 1955 in Belleville, Kansas to Ernest and Elda (Bergstrom) Carpenter. She was raised in Chester, Nebraska and received her education from Chester Hubbell Byron High School, graduating in 1975. On October 7, 1976, she gave birth to her only daughter, Jennifer Renae Hibbs. On August 9, 1980, she married David Hibbs and gave birth to her first son, David Hibbs Jr. on January 28, 1981. She gave birth to her last son, Jason Hibbs on June 26, 1983. Sheryl loved taking care of people. She was a very caring person and especially cherished her time spent with family. She enjoyed going to garage sales and was known for her sense of humor. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jennifer Hibbs (Alex); sons, David Hibbs Jr. and Jason Hibbs (Maggie); grandchildren, Jaymee Hibbs, Britney Hibbs, Dylan Hibbs, Aclynn Osterbuhr, Aayden Hibbs, Caitlynn Anderson, and Chloe Blank; two sisters; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Charles Fike, Keith Carpenter, and Carl Carpenter.
