Dennis Blinde, 68 Kearney resident Dennis Blinde, 68 of Kearney died Friday, March 02, 2018 at his home. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home with the Rev. John Gosswein officiating. Interment will follow at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Service. Dennis E. Blinde was born April 3, 1949 in Johnson, Nebraska to Edwin and Emma (Hablitzel) Blinde. He was a 1967 graduate of Johnson High School and later attended Central Community College in Hastings. While in Hastings, he met the love of his life, Cheryl Faber. On October 5, 1968, Dennis was united in marriage to Cheryl at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings, NE. He worked at Dick’s Sheet Metal and Zeke’s Heating and Air in Hastings. The couple later moved to Kearney where Dennis worked at Fiddelke Heating and Air as a sheet metal specialist for over 27 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and being outdoors. Dennis loved attending Classic Car Shows and his “ 59 “ Chevy Apache Pick-up was his pride and joy. Dennis was a member of the “Old Ten Cruisers Car Club.” He will be remembered as being a “Jack of all Trades, and a Master of All.” Left to cherish his memory are his wife Cheryl of Kearney; daughters Lorie Quintana and husband Eli (Cheo) of Kearney and Shelly Hove and husband Chris of Kearney; grandchildren Cody, Sadie and Halie Quintana and Taylor and Jayden Hove; great grandchildren Kaden, Koda, Kyia and Blaze Quintana; brothers-in-law and sisters-in -law Larry (Butch) Faber of Kearney, Sandra Day and husband Dennis of Gibbon, Patty Eckhardt and husband Leonard of Lincoln and Donna Ayriss and husband Graham of Lincoln; nieces Chris Diaz and Danielle Ohrt and nephews Patrick Weber and Christopher Ayriss; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Dennis had many friends and acquaintances and great neighbors which he called friends. He was loved by all who knew him. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.
