Earl W. Perales

Earl W. Perales, 89, of Kearney, Ne. died of cancer on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Mother Hull Home. In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Perales was cremated and there will be no services. Earl Wilburn Perales was born on December 28, 1926, in Wichita Falls, TX, to Elton Howard and Onie Lee (Flippin) Perales. He entered the United States Navy on February 24, 1945, at Casper, Wyoming, serving during WWII. He was honorably discharged on July 8, 1946, at Bremerton, Washington. Earl was united in marriage to Betty June Eisenbarger on July 27, 1947, in Casper, Wyoming. The couple made their home in Casper where he worked as a carpenter until retirement in 1989 at which time they moved to Kearney. Earl loved fishing Wyoming streams, camping with his wife, children and grandchildren, playing his harmonicas with jammers at nursing homes. He enjoyed flying model airplanes, wood carving and gardening. He was a member of First Christian Church of Casper for 42 years and First Christian Church of Kearney since 1989. More recently he and Betty attend Faith United Methodist Church of Kearney. He was also a member of The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Casper Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Betty J. Perales of Kearney; a son, Kenneth (Amy) Perales of Rosenberg, TX; two daughters, Becky (Jack) Wilkins of Kearney and Leslie (Andy) Norris of Walden, CO; three granddaughters, Lea Anne (Ed) Stefan of Cumming, IA; Jill (Tim) Tolleson of Dothan, AL, Kimberly (Miles) Maddux of Gibbon, NE, and two grandsons, Joe (Larisa) Wilkins of San Diego, CA and Richard (Elizabeth) Perales of Richmond, TX; and eleven great-grandchildren, Trevor, William, Samuel, Zackary and Peter Tolleson all of Dothan, AL; Matthew, Mark and Laura Stefan of Norwalk, IA; Richard L. and Emma Perales of Richmond, TX; Jackson Maddux of Gibbon, NE. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Burien Perales and three sisters, Stella Davies, Clara Williams and Nora Clark.
