Jack M. Fahnholz, 16 of Kearney passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 in Kearney, NE. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at First Lutheran Church in Kearney with the Rev. Carl Sirotzki officiating. Interment will follow at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Jack Martin Fahnholz blessed the lives of Dale E. and Amy (Miller) Fahnholz with his birth on Sept. 23, 2005 in Kearney, NE. He was raised in the Kearney area and attended Amherst High School as a Sophomore. In his short time on earth, he was a loving, kind-hearted, quiet yet quick-witted young man loved so dearly by his family and friends. He enjoyed family movie nights especially with popcorn and M&Ms, biking and walking at the park, kayaking, trips with his Dad to get ice cream bars, playing cards or chess with his brother, Bryan, and his Dad, hanging out with Bryan and his Mom in Kearney and on short trips out of town, building elaborate Lego structures with Bryan, playing games with Bryan and of course playing with his dog, Fozzy. He had a sweet tooth for chocolate just like his Grandma Dee, who always got hugs when treats were offered, especially from her Oreo drawer. The daily “I love you”s from him to his family and hugs from him will be treasures each one of us will cherish every day of our lives. He enjoyed playing video games with his friends as he talked and joked with them through the games’ microphone. His friends meant so much to him. He attended Zion Lutheran preschool program and was confirmed as a member of the Family of Christ Lutheran Church. It was a privilege that God gave him to Amy, Dale and Bryan, as well as to many other family members and friends. Our hearts ache from his loss, but eternally grateful for the time we had with him. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale E. Fahnholz; grandparents, Dean and DeLoris Miller; and grandfather, Walter “Edward” Fahnholz. Left to mourn his passing are his mother, Amy Fahnholz; brother, Bryan Fahnholz; his uncle, Nathan Miller, and aunt, Tiffany, and their children Grace, Jaden and Sydney; his uncle, Shawn Miller, and aunt, Angela; his grandmother, Carol Barrett; his aunt, Debbon Shields and family; his aunt, Danna Gabel and family; and many other extended family and friends. Each family member knew him as a blessing and celebrates the love he brought to all of us.
