Jared Lee Irwin, 21 Kearney resident Jared Lee Irwin, 21, of Kearney, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at his home from a tragic accident. A private family service will be held at a later date. Jared Lee Irwin was born April 4, 1995 in Louisville, Kentucky to Leon and Tresa (Smith) Irwin. He was a 2014 graduate of Phillipsburg High School in Phillipsburg, KS and went on to graduate from Northwest Kansas Technical College, Kansas Institute of Diesel Technology in Goodland, KS with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in May of 2016. Jared had planned to continue his education and earn a bachelors and masters in psychology, because he wanted to continue better helping people. Jared recently became interested in stained glass and made his family several lovely pieces, including a beautiful stained glass Eiffel Tower for his mom. Jared was an artist in many forms including writing, crafting many wonderful stories that captivated and intrigued those with whom he shared them. Jared liked his guns and enjoyed shooting with both his father and brother, where he was more often than not the top marksman of the three. He enjoyed carrying his firearms with him at all times and engaging with anyone who shared the same interest. Jared loved watching Anime and sharing new series that he had found with his brother, sister and friends. His favorite animated characters were the Hulk, Tom and Jerry and Scooby Doo. One of Jared's favorite past times was playing his X-Box 360. He was a masterful gamer and made many good friends in his online games. Jared possessed a wonderful, good, kind, loving and giving heart. Jared never saw people as strangers, rather as new potential friends. Jared always greeted with a smile and his hand out ready to introduce himself and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone, anytime. Countless times people told his mom what a good boy he was, so courteous and kind and how much he had helped them. He extended his passions to his siblings who shared in them and were shaped by them. Jared and his sister communicated in their own unique way, as could no one else in the world. Jared's brother is more proud of him than words could ever describe, a brother who was made better every day because of him. Both his siblings and his mother and father love him deeply. Jared was a loyal son, brother and friend and was always there for the ones he cared about, whenever they needed him. Jared loved to make people happy and would do whatever it took to get someone to give him a big smile. He grew from a cute, sweet, boy to a wonderful, giving, handsome man. Jared loved openly and was loved in return by the many who were lucky enough to be touched by his life. Jared, you are your mother's joy and you will always be my little wee wee. I am proud of you and always will be. Your mom loves you forever sweet Jared Lee. Left to cherish his memory are his mother and step-father, Tresa Lee and Dirk Christensen of Kearney; father Leon Irwin of Phillipsburg, KS; sister Sarina Irwin of Manhattan, KS; brother Nicholas E. Irwin of Omaha; grandfather Everett W. Smith of Glendo, WY, his aunt Jackie Olaveson and her husband Dennis of Laramie, WY, and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and three very special second cousins.
