Kermit Keller

Kermit L. Keller, 71, of Gibbon died Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Shelton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Melody Adams officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. Memorials are suggested to the Shelton United Methodist Church or the Gibbon Volunteer Fire Department. Kermit Loren Keller was born April 7, 1941 in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska to Carl and Irene (Jensen) Keller. He received his education at Beaver Crossing High School and later earned his degree from Southeast Community College in Milford, NE. Kermit was united in marriage to Linda Kruse. To this union 4 children were born; Wayne Leroy, Gordon James, Becky Jo and Ginger Lynn. He worked for Caterpillar for nearly 30 years as a heavy equipment mechanic. On July 6, 1985, Kermit married Sue D. Eby in Gibbon. He had been employed at the Buffalo County Highway Department for 24 years. After retirement from the county, Kermit sincerely enjoyed being able to work two days a week on the Smith Farm in Odessa; and always looked forward to harvest. Kermit enjoyed restoring old cars, tractors, woodworking and garage sales. He was known for being able to fix anything and was always the first to lend a helping hand. Survivors include his wife, Sue of Gibbon; sons, Wayne Keller and wife, Kris of Gibbon, Gordon Keller of Table Rock, NE; daughters, Becky Zimmerman and husband, Kenny of Gibbon, Ginger Marx and husband, Dave of Seibert, CO; daughter, Deb Eby Kosmicki of Thorton, CO and son, Mike Eby and wife, Lisa of Moreno Valley, CA; grandchildren, Jason, Angie and Kaleb Keller, Kassy Marsh, Josh and Elizabeth Keller, Logan, Trista, Treyton and Jentri Marx, Jacque Kosmicki, Lindsey and Andrew Eby; great grandchildren, Justin, Parker, Kennedy and Brook Keller, Zoë Castillo, Aliza and Adalyn Marsh; brother, Lowell Keller and wife, Carrie of Meeteetse, WY; sister-in-law, Linda Young and husband, Gene of Lexington; mother-in-law, Odessa Jensen of Lexington; nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Kermit was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ralph Keller.
